Philosophy: The Sr. Legion program is a competitive program that plays in the State Line League Baseball Association and has both state and national affiliations. This program requires a major commitment by players who have selected baseball as their primary spring/summer sport and have played or are considering playing varsity level baseball at Middleton High School. This program requires a primary commitment by players to the Legion program over other summer baseball options |

Season: The season begins in early June immediately following the end of state high school baseball tournament and is completed by the end of July. The team plays around 24 games in a 6 week period. Games are played any day of the week with weekday games beginning at 7:00 PM. The league portion of the season is completed by approximately the second weekend in July.

Team Composition: The team is generally comprised of the players who played on the varsity team at Middleton High School. Juniors who did not make the varsity, but have a serious desire to still pursue varsity baseball are encouraged to participate. Graduated seniors are eligible to for this program, and will be invited to participate based on the participation level of juniors and the composition and positional needs of the team. The League director with input form the coaches will invite graduated seniors to participate. Graduated seniors are encouraged to pursue additional playing time in the Senior Babe Ruth or Home Talent program. Emphasis during the league portion of the season will generally be to promote playing time for the juniors (next year’s seniors). The team is comprised of 12-14 players, if more players express an interest in participating, a tryout may be held. |

Tournaments: The Sr Legion team may participate in state qualifiers tournaments in either the U17 or AAA divisions. Winners of the qualifier goes to the Wisconsin State Legion tournament. The Sr Legion team may also participate in the State Line League end of season tournament as an alternate to the Wisconsin State Legion tournament. |
