Middleton Baseball and Softball Commission is proposing to build an indoor practice facility at Middleton Firefighter’s Memorial Park fields near Diamond #4.
The Middleton Baseball and Softball Commission (www.mbscwi.com) hopes to construct the practice center which would include batting cages and pitching mounds. This facility would be made available to all youth baseball/softball teams associated with Middleton Baseball and Softball Commission. In addition to serving the youth, this facility will also be made available to Middleton Home Talent as well as the Middleton High School Baseball and Softball programs.
We feel we are in a position where we can provide an indoor facility that will be a benefit for all ages. We are looking for help all over the Middleton area to get this built. We feel this will be a valuable asset to the baseball/softball players who want to practice in inclement weather. The facility is being designed to be used year round. The facility will be heated as well as the installation of large overhead doors that will be able to be open during the summer months. This indoor site would have been especially useful this past spring, when the weather was unseasonably cold and wet, forcing many baseball and softball teams to practice in overcrowded gyms or cancel.
After the building is paid in full, the MBSC would dedicate it to the City of Middleton because it is located in a city park. While the City will own the building, Middleton Baseball and Softball Commission (MBSC) would be responsible for maintaining the building and have exclusive use to the facility.
Members of the Middleton Baseball and Softball Commission are contacting local businesses and others seeking money for the endeavor. Sponsors will be recognized on a wall of fame in the building.
